How long does do typical interior projects take?
Most interior projects last less than a day, many taking half a day or less; however, in certain cases there can be unique complexities that may extend the duration of the project.
How much does a typical interior project cost?
Difficult question, it depends on the complexity, location, and naturally, scope. Some projects listed below can help for high-level estimates:
– Ceiling fan installation, $175 to $200. Price depends on type of fan, height, if it has advanced controls such as wireless remote, and if it is a replacement or new install. This range can vary too if multiple units are installed.
– Paint touch-ups. These would depend on the size of the space, but minor touch-ups can be combined with other projects and become relatively inexpensive. By themselves a paint touch-up may fall in our minimum service charge.
– Curtain rod install. Price depends on height, quantity, size, and potential obstructions (i.e. furniture around the window). Typically prices range between $125 and $250 per curtain rod. Some special circumstances (elevated windows) may be higher.
– Smoke detector battery replacement. These can be one of the most uncomfortable projects to tackle, especially if they start at night! You can anticipate them by replacing all your batteries on a periodic basis. Price depends on the number of smoke detectors and locations (some can be very high). Small quantities may fall in our minimum service charge.
When planning interior (and even exterior) projects it always helps when you can group several small projects. When you maximize our tech’s productivity (i.e. full morning, full afternoon, or full-day) you obtain the best cost-benefit relationship. The smaller the projects the bigger the impact of logistics and sunk costs in the total project cost.

When is best to perform interior projects?
Anytime! Since most homes nowadays have both air conditioning and heating the environmental conditions don’t have much impact on the execution. Certain factors cam simplify our job, like having less furniture around if you are moving in, or moving out; also, extreme temperatures can slow down progress, such as peak of summer or winter.
Another consideration is avoiding multiple trades working at the same time, since it can become logistically challenging. In the end, we will adapt to any conditions but if you are in doubt, give us a call!
How is it best to tackle those small, frequent projects?
A good option is to plan ahead. We offer maintenance plans where we visit your home two or four times per year and complete a pre-determined list of maintenance items. This list can be dynamic and be adjusted as the visit date approaches. One added benefit of planning ahead is that the service cost is lower when purchased through an annual plan.
