Not all boxes are ceiling-fan rated, and if one is not available a special box must be installed prior to installing the ceiling fan. When is best to install ceiling fans?
Weather-wise, for indoor ceiling fans there is no preferred season to install them, for outdoor ceiling fans it is preferable to install them when rainy or otherwise inclement weather can be avoided. Since ceiling fans do take space to assemble please do take into account this so ample space is available in the room where the fan will be installed. Reasonable space shall also be available for the ladder.
